Boys & Girls Clubs of Hill County - About Us

History:

A recent grass roots movement has lead to the organization of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hill County, Inc.  A steering committee representing a cross section of Hillsboro residents was formed though the efforts of the Hillsboro Police Department and local resident Waseem Subhani.  The committee nominated a slate for a Board of Directors, and they were installed on January, 3, 2006.  County Court at Law Judge A. Lee Harris, President of the Board, remarked, “Our children need additional opportunities within a structured environment.  During my years in Hill County, Juvenile delinquency has risen dramatically.  Many factors contribute to this, but idleness and lack of guidance certainly contribute to the list.  All of us hope that by providing a Boys and Girls Club setting our youth will be steered toward constructive endeavors that better prepare them for the future.”

Changing Lives        Shaping Futures

Over 300 youth are positively influenced by the help they receive from the Boys & Girls Club of Hill County.  25% of these kids come to the club 4 or more times per week.

Everyday, over 60 kids participate in after-school educational activities in the Club.

94% of students in the Club are on the academic honor roll and receive commendations for perfect attendance and good citizenship.

95% of our club kids want to further their education in the future to serve their community as an educator.

Learning that begins in the classroom continues at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hill County through the many quality education programs offered daily and the caring positive adult who awaits them.

While the Club is a great place for kids to come and have fun with friends, play games and participate in organized sports, it is also a place where kids continue learning.  They get help with homework, benefit from mentors and tutors and receive the crucial encouragement they need to succeed.

Your donation will help us continue to provide quality education programs to the disadvantaged kids we serve and one day build a permanent clubhouse for our kids in Hill County.

Please donate today and help us change a life forever.
